Scrappy Granny Square Pillow Crochet-A-Long

Join us on Saturdays in May as we crochet the "Solid Scrappy Granny Pillow" by Nautikrall. If you love Granny Squares, and also have a bunch of yarn scraps you need to use up, then this Crochet-A-Long is for you! The possibilities are endless - stitch together all your favorite yarn ends in random order or plan out a plaid pattern! 

This is a Crochet-A-Long, not a "how to crochet" class. We will not be teaching how to make Granny Squares. (But you can take our Granny Square Workshop on May 10 and be ready to go!) Participants should be comfortable with the basics of crochet: how to chain, single crochet, and double-crochet. Participants should also be familiar with standard crochet abbreviations, to help follow the pattern. The first week, we'll walk through the pattern together and talk through any special stitches or techniques. The next 2 Saturdays, we'll enjoy making Granny Squares with yarnie friends, go over any questions or issues, and continue crocheting awesome pillows!

Date & Time: Saturdays, May 11, 18, & 25, starting at 10AM each Saturday.

Cost: The Crochet-A-Long is free, but space is limited! Register to save your spot!

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner - You should be comfortable with the basics of crochet. This is not a "how to crochet" or "how to make Granny Squares" class. 

Required Skills: Participants should know how to chain, single crochet, and double-crochet, as well as be able to understand standard crochet terminology.

Materials: Materials are not provided; participants will need to gather the following materials before the class.

• Pillow can be made in multiple sizes. Yardage provided is for 14” (16”, 18” or 20”) pillow forms. 
• Approximately 464yds (486yds, 724yds, 876yds) of Worsted Weight Yarn
• OR
• Approximately 457yds (566yds, 684yds, 814yds) of DK Weight Yarn

Tools: 

• US 5.00 mm (size H) crochet hook
• Needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors
• Washable Pillow Form in sizes 14”, 16”, 18” or 20”
