Join us for World Wide Knit in Public Day!

We are so excited to be participating in our first World Wide Knit in Public Day this year!

Before we share all the details, here's some background on WWKIP:

World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company...This a specific day to get out of your house and go to a local event (with your knitting in tow) just for you and people like you. Who knows, you might even bump into your neighbor!

We're starting our KIP Day a little early, and we welcome crafters of all kinds, so we're dubbing this year's celebration "The World Wide Stitch in Public Weekend".

Here's our schedule:

Our monthly Stitchin' on Trenton just happens to fall on June 9, so we're starting our KIP celebrations! Join us at 5:30 for a *free* knitting class and learn how to make the classic knit dishcloth! (Registration required)

Saturday, join us bright and early at the Kingston Lakeside Farmer's Market for knitting and stitching in public from 8AM - 11AM. Bring your chair, current project, and enjoy a morning with your local crafting community! The Farmer's Market will provide a tent.

At 10AM, join us back at the shop and learn how to make a basic, crescent shaped shawl. If you are a beginning knitter and looking for a first "big" project, this is a great one to start with! (Registration required)

(Please note - the Farmer's Market goes on until 11, and stitchers are invited to stay the whole time. If you plan on attending the Farmer's Market and also the Shawl class, you will need to leave the market early.)

From 12pm - 3pm, we'll enjoy crafting together at the shop. This is a great time to celebrate your love for needle arts with other yarnies! If the weather is nice, we'll set out chairs and enjoy stitching in public on Trenton Street.

At 3pm, we'll head over to Gather Coffee Lounge, also in downtown Harriman. We'll stitch the afternoon away while we sip on delicious local coffee!

Share your passion for stitching with the world around you and join us for World Wide Stitch in Public Day! We can't wait to stitch with you!

What do bring: A chair, bottle of water, current WIP, and your awesome self!
